Range Rules

Treat every firearm as if it were loaded and always be aware of the direction of the muzzle.
- Never handle any weapon that you do not understand how to operate.
- Caution family members on safety and the dangers of firearms.
- All safety precautions must be adhered to and enforced.
- Be sure there is no obstruction in the barrel of the firearm before loading.
- Never carry a loaded firearm on the range, except when on the firing line.
- Leave the firearm in the holster, gun box, or rack until it is needed. Keep the
action open and the firearm unloaded except when shooting.
- Keep the firearm pointed DOWN RANGE at all times.
- Keep your fingers out of the trigger guard until you are ready to fire.
- In case of a misfire, keep the firearm pointed down range for at least 10
seconds before opening the cylinder or action.
- Know where others are at all times.
- THE POSSESSION OF OR THE USE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED!
- Never permit the muzzle of a firearm to touch the ground.
- Be aware of the potential hazard of a cocked firearm.
- Never give the weapon to anyone or take it from anyone without checking
to see if it is unloaded.
- NEVER go in front of the firing line until it is safe to do so. A cold line(unloaded condition) or hot line ( loaded condition ) must be acknowledged by all participants on the firing line. All weapons should be holstered, benched, or cased when any person or persons are forward of the firing line
- All persons on the firing range must use approved eye and ear protection.
- Keep the range clean after use, to include the picking up of brass casings, trash, etc.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that your firearms and ammunition is safe and operational at all times. You are responsible for all of your equipment.
- NEW RULE! Firearm chamber flags are now REQUIRED on the firing line. When a weapon is NOT in use, the firing chamber will be open and a chamber flag inserted into the breech of the weapon.
